1. Who we are and what this covers

Roundhouse Development, LLC, based in Tampa Bay, Florida, provides CastPoint and TerraSea and is developing Find the Bite. This shared Privacy Policy explains the information handled in connection with Roundhouse consumer apps that link to it, including CastPoint, TerraSea, and Find the Bite, related support, and the Roundhouse website. References to “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Roundhouse Development, LLC.

Practices vary by app and feature. The brand-specific sections below explain those differences; a feature described for one app is not necessarily present in another. Separate business, developer, or administration services may have additional notices. We will update this shared policy when additional app features introduce different data practices.

2. CastPoint

CastPoint provides marine weather, maps, radar, tides, and fishing-activity information. The current consumer app does not require a user account.

Device and selected locations
With your permission, CastPoint uses your device location for location-based information. Coordinates you select on a map or through search may also be precise, even when device-location permission is off. Selected coordinates are sent to our API and relevant weather, marine, or location providers to return information for that area.
Searches and map requests
Place-search text is used for geocoding. Map, imagery, and radar requests reveal the requested geographic area to the services delivering those resources. Network services also receive technical information such as your IP address.
Saved places and preferences
Saved spots, spot names, recent searches, and preferences are stored in the app’s local storage. They are not a consumer account cloud-sync feature. Device or operating-system backup settings may affect whether local app data is backed up.
Optional weather, lightning, and tide notifications
Where enabled for your app version and platform, notifications use a push-notification token, a random installation identity, platform information, and your notification preferences. Preferences can include warning categories, distance thresholds, quiet hours, time zone, and a selected tide station. Weather and lightning notifications use the alert location and its timestamp. Following your location requires separate background-location permission and can send updated locations while the app is not on screen. Choosing a saved alert location instead uses that selected location. Tide reminders use your chosen tide station. Notifications are optional and may be unavailable when the app reports that notification setup is pending. Tide notifications may include a predicted tide-chart image. Notification providers process the payload and device token to deliver these messages.
Installation and usage analytics
Updated versions of CastPoint create a random identifier stored with the app and send it with the platform (iOS or Android) when the app is used in the foreground. We use a hashed form of this identifier to count newly observed installations and daily active installations. This report does not include your name, email, saved places, or coordinates. We also aggregate API request counts, response sizes, errors, and response times by feature to understand service usage and reliability. This analytics identifier is separate from notification credentials and is not an advertising identifier.
Technical information
Our hosting and network providers process request metadata, including IP addresses, timestamps, requested resources, and diagnostic or error information, to deliver content, limit abuse, troubleshoot, and maintain the service.

3. Find the Bite

Find the Bite is a marine fishing assistant in development. Its planned experience uses a selected waypoint or map pin and a date to provide fishing guidance. Those planned features are not a statement that the app is already collecting location, catch, account, or AI-prompt data.

At this stage, this policy covers information you voluntarily send us about Find the Bite, such as support questions or product inquiries. We will update its app-specific disclosures before introducing data collection for a released app or test service. This section does not cover the older Find the Bite Waypoint Explorer/cloud-sync service.

4. TerraSea

TerraSea provides outdoor maps, personal and shared waypoints, route and activity planning, and community features. Available features differ between web, mobile, and app versions.

Accounts and cloud storage
We process your email address, password hash, profile information, and authentication/session records. Waypoints, coordinates, notes, imported GPX information, saved routes, activity records, photos, and other content you save may be stored on our servers and synchronized with your devices. Uninstalling TerraSea does not delete your account or cloud records.
Location and activity sharing
With permission, TerraSea uses your location, heading, and movement information for mapping and field tools. Where you enable activity-location sharing, your position and associated activity information can be sent to our servers and shown to authorized activity members. Supported activity features may record location updates or breadcrumbs while operating in the background. Use the app’s sharing controls and device permissions to stop these features. An offline device cannot immediately clear a previously shared server location.
Shared content
Private, shared, and public layers have different audiences. Content you publish, invitations, group messages, and content you contribute to an activity or shared collection are available to the people permitted by that feature. Review visibility before sharing precise locations or photos. Recipients may retain copies of content they have already received.
Trail cameras and AI assistance
If you use camera features, we process uploaded or imported images, camera identifiers and locations, capture metadata, and your annotations. Connecting a supported provider such as SPYPOINT uses credentials to authenticate and stores protected connection tokens for authorized imports; the connector does not retain your provider password. Disconnecting stops the connection but does not automatically delete previously imported photos. Where enabled, self-hosted AI analysis processes camera images to suggest wildlife information, with your corrections stored separately. This camera analysis does not send photos to OpenAI.
Service requests and notifications
Hosting, mapping, environmental-data, and notification services process the request information needed to deliver their features, such as requested geographic areas, IP addresses, diagnostic information, and device push tokens. TerraSea uses AWS infrastructure and map/environmental sources including Esri, Mapbox, Open-Meteo, and public agencies such as NOAA and USGS where applicable. Connected camera providers receive authentication and import requests when you use their integration.

We use this information to operate accounts, synchronize content, provide selected features, enable sharing you request, and secure and troubleshoot the service. Cloud records remain until deleted or no longer needed for those purposes. Some deletions use synchronization markers or recoverable deletion; logs, encrypted backups, and residual stored objects may remain for operational, security, or legal needs. We do not promise immediate erasure of every copy. Contact us to request account or associated-data deletion using the shared support page.

5. Why we use information

  • Provide location-specific forecasts, maps, marine information, and optional alerts.
  • Remember app settings and saved places on your device.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and product inquiries.
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our services and meet applicable legal obligations.

When you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Avoid sending passwords, payment details, private fishing coordinates, or other sensitive information unless needed to resolve your request.

6. Service providers and disclosures

We use hosting, delivery, email, map, weather, and notification providers to perform the functions described above. CastPoint integrations include Amazon Web Services for infrastructure; Open-Meteo for forecast and place-search services; Xweather and Rainbow for applicable weather, lightning, or radar features; and OpenFreeMap and Esri for map or imagery delivery. Data sources also include public weather, ocean, and environmental services. Which providers receive a request depends on the feature and app version.

When available and enabled, notifications use Apple Push Notification service on iOS or Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. Direct map and imagery requests go from your device to the relevant provider; other requests may be routed through our API. A provider may receive coordinates, map-tile areas, search text, IP addresses, or delivery identifiers needed for its service.

We may disclose information when legally required, to protect people or the service, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable protections. We do not make saved places public through the current CastPoint consumer app.

7. Roundhouse website analytics

The Roundhouse marketing website uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and interactions, including clicks on inquiry links. Google’s tag can process online identifiers, cookies, browser/device information, and usage data. Clicking an email link is recorded as inquiry intent; it does not tell us whether an email was sent. This website implementation is separate from the apps and does not mean Google Analytics is installed in CastPoint, TerraSea, or Find the Bite.

Browser settings can limit cookies. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on and explains its processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

8. Retention and security

We retain information for the purposes described in this policy, taking account of service delivery, support, security, legal obligations, and the sensitivity of the information. Local saved places remain until removed or app data is cleared; copies in device backups are controlled by your backup settings. Operational records and support correspondence may outlast an individual forecast request.

Current CastPoint notification subscriptions are designed to expire 30 days after their latest registration or renewal. Using notification features can renew that period. Turning notifications off in CastPoint while connected requests removal of the server subscription. Older versions may use an earlier lightning-only subscription with a shorter expiry. Expiration of an active subscription is not a promise of immediate removal from every log or backup.

Installation analytics retain a hashed first-seen marker to avoid counting the same installation again. Daily activity markers and aggregate metrics are configured to expire after 90 days; expiration does not guarantee immediate removal from logs or backups.

We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, including encrypted network connections for our APIs and access controls. No system can guarantee absolute security. Our infrastructure and providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

  • Change location, background-location, and notification permissions in your device settings.
  • Use a manually selected location where supported instead of your device location. That selected location is still sent to provide the requested information.
  • Remove saved spots in the app. Clearing app data or uninstalling can remove local records; device backups or secure storage may persist separately.
  • If notifications are active, turn them off in CastPoint while connected before uninstalling. Disabling notifications alone does not necessarily delete a server subscription.

You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with you, or to ask about rights available under the laws that apply to you. We may need to verify your identity or request enough information to locate the relevant record. Do not send an installation secret or password. Some information may need to be retained for legal or security reasons; we will explain applicable limits when responding.

See privacy and deletion help for how to submit a request. The current CastPoint consumer app has no user account to close.

10. Children

These services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

11. Updates and contact

We may update this policy when our practices or services change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide additional notice or seek consent before a material change takes effect.
